The item for sale is an Antique Copeland Spode Large Bowl in the "Italian" Pattern. The Bowl measures 9 1/2" in diameter and is 3 3/4" deep. It might possibly have been used as a serving bowl. Copeland Spode was made in England, and this ever popular blue/white transferware was made from the turn of the century on. On the back there are two impressed numbers, "16" for the date of manufacture, 1916, and another number for the size of the item (several numbers that I can't quite make out). This bowl is in amazingly good shape with no chips, cracks, or repairs, although there is some crazing visible (a patch on the back of the bowl).
