Up for bid is another delightful recent find. This is a vintage Catalina Island souvenir. It is a copper buffalo with a thermometer. The thermometer is still in working condition. the buffalo still roam the inland parts of Catalina Island. The lower portion of this figural thermometer has a small enamel emblem with the wording Catalina Island.... Calif ... It also depicts the famed flying fish and a sailboat. this solid copper thermometer measures 2 1/2" in height and 3" across. There is no maker's mark so the exact vintage is unknown. I believe it possibly dates from the 1950's or 1960's. This would make a wonderful addition to any vintage Catalina Island souvenir collection, or for the collector of desktop thermometers or buffalo.
