Small Cannister with Lid
from the Spirit of '76 Line
This nicely designed McCoy small cannister (with lid) is from the 1970s Spirit of '76 line. It has a two-tone brown glaze, finished with a richly colored eagle and flag decal, in a vintage milk can shape. It measures 4.5 inches high (without lid) and 3.5 inches wide across the base.
This vintage McCoy cannister is in very good to excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, or hairlines, and no crazing that I can see.
The bottom is marked with an incised USA mark, along with a stamp (above photo). This piece is shown on page 169 of volume III, McCoy Pottery (Hanson, Nissen, Hanson).
