Goebel Chimney Sweep Jar done by artist Gerard Skrobek. The hat has an indent in the rim to accomodate a spoon, although I have seen it described as a mustard jar it is a more appropriate size for jam or marmalade. Dated l972, it stands 10.5cm tall, it is incised on the bottom with 834001 and the printed 'V, bee, W Germany' trademark in blue . Carrying his rope, the sweep is dressed in traditional black suit, and his lucky four leafed clover. It is in good condition, there are no cracks, chips or repairs and has lustrous unfaded colour . There is some very slight crazing around the neck .
