This clear glass paperweight dish or pipe holder or mobile phone holder - whatever - is quite unique. It is engraved on the base Art France and what looks to be like Clune, all in a diamond cartouche, but I can't make out the name Clune or Czzzn. Neither would a photo turn out any clearer picture although I could fax you a drawing of my interpretation.
Therefore, I cannot say how old it is, only to say it is styled after a pecking bird and the back of the bird and tail is indented to form a dish to hold something the size and shape of a pipe. It easily holds a mobile phone, too. 6 inches long , weighs about 400 gms.
There are a few minor light scratches on the inside of the bowl, from previous use - whatever that was....
I like it anyway, and if nobody bids then I will keep it on my desk for my phone (not my pipe!!)
