This is a wonderful, very old, mustache cup. Based on what i know about it im guessing it's from mid 1800's to 1870. But thats only my guess. I really know nothing about these types of items other than it's very cool looking and appears a bit dainty. Why would a guy with a big strapping mustache use use a dainty cup? I dunno but... I do know this cup appears to have gold flaked rim and the flowers have held up very well. there are a couple of chips in the rim and it has a hairline crack. Still, a lovely piece for your display. I have 4 boys and we are busting at the seams so it's gotta go. Upon your request I'd include the name history (gma wrote it down for me some 30 years ago) to the cup which includes the original owners name. very cool
